NFL Preseason 2018 The Falcons lost all four of their preseason games last year and turned out just fine in the end. However, none of them were quite as ugly as the one we saw last week against the Jets. In a 17-0 shutout, Atlanta looked sloppy and unprepared to compete for most of the game. Although the loss means nothing in the grand scheme of things, coach Dan Quinn wants to see a much better effort from his team this time out.
On the other side, the Chiefs are beginning a new era at quarterback. This offseason, they traded long-time starter Alex Smith to Washington and promoted the more dynamic but less efficient QB Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City may have won the trade, but only time will tell if Mahomes is capable of leading the Chiefs past their traditional ceiling in the early rounds of the playoffs.
The Falcons continue their 2018 preseason schedule this week when they host the Chiefs on Friday night. Here’s everything you need to know about where, when and how to watch the game.
The Falcons will play their first game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Friday night as they welcome the Kansas City Chiefs for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff on the second week of the 2018 preseason.
Atlanta dropped its preseason opener to the Jets in New Jersey, losing 17-0. Falcons head coach Dan Quinn wants to see crisper play from his team on Friday as he still continues to evaluate the players fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster.
